Bubbalu Day Care Centre

Bubbalu Day Care Centre opened its doors 1 July 2002. 1 May 2005 we extended our premises to include a small castle.

Aftercare:

We offer aftercare for grade 1 to 7 learners from Bastion Primary only.

Bubbalu Day Care Centre is a dual medium christian based school. Our morning ring starts with praising the Lord.

2023 School hours:
We are open during the school holiday and offer holiday care at no additional costs. We are closed on public holidays and over the festive season as indicated on our website: Events

Full Day:
• Monday to Thursday 06:35 – 18:00
• Friday 06:35 – 17:30

Half Day:
• 06:35 – 13:00
School holiday care:
• Monday to Thursday 06:35 – 17:35
• Friday 06:35 – 17:00

Value added learning:
We do not go on outings but we do invite a lot of different and interesting characters to our school and have fun days during each term.

We end our year off with our concert which includes the teachers as well – a must for all the family.

School photos:
School photos are taken every year.

Playtimes:
We have a big outside play area which consists of: jungle gyms, a balancing area, sandpit, mini athletics track, circle movement area and a mini sports field. Each class has an outside play schedule and one class is allowed on the jungle gym or activity area at a time.

Health:
Bubbalu Day Care Centre makes every effort to ensure the health of every child. Children with infectious illnesses must be treated at home. This is to protect all our children. Parents are asked to arrange their own inoculations.

Security:
We use fingerprint access control to enter the big and small castles.
All children must be signed out by the teacher on duty.
SJC Security protects our school, and we are linked up for 24 hour armed response.
There is always adult supervision on the playground and classrooms.

Food:
We serve breakfast, morning snack, a cooked lunch and afternoon snack daily.

Curriculum:
Children 0-4 years NCF and ELDAS.
Pre-Grade R (4-5 years) ELDAS and CAPS curriculums.
Grade R CAPS curriculum.
Evaluation and observation are done through the year.

We are registered as an independent school by the Department of Education Western Cape Reg. No. 13/1/4/H2082

Reports:
Children 2 years and older are evaluated through the year. Reports are given at the end of every term.
